| ~ Chicken, Beef or Fish stock is a liquid in which bones and vegetables have been simmered for the purpose of serving as an ingredient in more complex dishes. ~ Stock is not usually served as is. ~ Vegetable broth is a series of vegetables with herbs and spices, boiled and their flavours are extracted. ~ Broth can be milder than stock, does not need to be boiled as long. ~ Soup is a food that is made by combining ingredients such as meat and vegetables with stock, juice, water or another liquid. ~ Hot soups are additionally characterized by boiling solid ingredients in liquids in a pot until the flavour is extracted, forming a broth. ~ However, broth is the base ingredient of many dishes. ~ Homemade broth is always better than the ones selling in the stores dew to the fact that you know what is made from and what ingredients are used to make it. ~ The most used broths in the Greek Cuisine are the following: |
