~ Mezes (Appetizer) is something that always accompanying a drink.
~ Mezes could be a bowl of nuts, dry fruits, fresh fruits (cut in small pieces), fresh vegetables (cut in small pieces), something cooked or preserved but is cold or something cooked and is hot.
~ It is very important to a Greek when he drinks to have something to eat with it.
~ What they usually drink is the Cypriot Zivania, the Greek Raki (Tsipouro or Tsikouthia), home made Red Wine or the world known Ouzo.
~ Zivania and Raki is a kind of liquor which is produced by the distillation of grapes.
~ In other words, home made moonshine.
