Greek Omlette

 

~ In Greece and the Islands, various kinds of pastry constitute the traditional Greek breakfast. Tyropita, Spanakopita, and Bougatsa (particularly in Northern Greece) are eaten, usually accompanied with Greek coffee.
~ Simpler breakfasts include Plain Yogurt with honey, honey, marmalade or nutella cream (as well a Greek variation thereof, Merenda) spread over slices of bread.
~ Children typically drink chocolate or plain milk.

~ In Cyprus, breakfast consists of white cheese Halloumi (National Cheese), feta or yellow cheese, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, black and/or green olives, butter, Plain Yogurt with honey, honey and a boiled egg or two.
~ Breakfasts can be very elaborate for company or on weekends, and may include a variety of breads, pastries, and spreads, and several fresh fruits and vegetables in season.
~ Breakfast is always accompanied with a Greek Coffee. Children typically drink chocolate, plain milk or some kind of juice.
