Choriatiki Salata (Village Salad)

~ Ingredients:

~ 2 tomatoes
~ 1/2 a cucumber sliced in half moons
~ 1/2 green pepper chopped
~ 1 stalk of celery
~ 1/2 a lettuce
~ 1 onion chopped
~ 1 tbsp of pickled capers
~ 5-10 Kalamata olives
~ 120 g of fetta cheese crumbled or cubed
~ 1/4 cup of olive oil
~ 1-2 tbsp of vinegar or to taste
~ Salt and pepper to taste
Greek salad
   

 

~ Wash all vegetables well with plenty of fresh water.
~ Brake the lettuce in big pieces and put them in a salad bowl.
~ Cut the tomatoes in wedges and place in salad bowl.
~ Cut cucumbers in half length wise and then slice in half moons and add them in the bowl.
~ Chop the celery, onion and green pepper and add them to the salad bowl.
~ Add the olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to taste and toss to mix all vegetables with the oil and vinegar.
~ Add the Kalamata olives over the salad, sprinkle the pickled capers and on top the Fetta cheese.
~ Your Choriatiki salad is ready to serve.
